Mordovian national costume. People who worked on the land could make their own fabrics. They produced linen or thick linen for hemp shirts, woolen fabric for warm clothes, bright woolen thread for embroidery. They were painted using vegetable dyes. Women’s clothing is the most interesting. It has many traditional features. Hand embroidery patterns have national symbols of ancient pagan beliefs.
